MARK MORRISON

Mark T. Morrison has been in the emerging technology and entertainment business for over 30 years, working within TV, Film, Music, Video Game, and OS/Platform Technology verticals. After working tenured stints at Atari, Midway, and Ubisoft, Mark helped build the Unity 3D software games business in the Americas and leveraged that successful experience into his ARVR career. Mark has domain expertise in OS and platform business development, creating large enterprise and industrial deals with a keen focus on the end user, developers and consumers.

Mark is currently working with Tri Point Lab to help create an immersive, adaptive, and interactive global education platform that will provide one of the most meaningful classroom experiences yet. Mark resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his family where he provides additional advice and consulting for technology start-ups as well as large corporations, including relevant market place analysis and trend spotting for the entire immersive interactive media spectrum.

MONTY SHARMA

Managing Director – MassDigi

Monty Sharma is Managing Director of MassDiGI. Prior to joining MassDiGI, Sharma, a respected game industry and technology professional, was co-founder and general manager of Vivox, a voice chat service provider in the games industry with key relationships to EASonyUbisoftNexonBigpoint and many others.

Before Vivox, he held senior positions at Jamcracker, Novell and MT&T.

MONA

Senior Associate – Interactive Entertainment Law Group

Mona Ibrahim is the senior associate at Interactive Entertainment Law Group. She has spent the past decade representing and educating independent game developers in a broad range of legal matters, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property and project financing. Prior to opening her own firm in 2010, Mona successfully managed the trademark practice of Imua Legal Advisors in Seattle, WA. During her years of private practice she worked closely with new independent developers from company inception to game launch.

In her role as senior associate, she has successfully represented developers and publishers in a range of transactions, including equity finance, project finance, co-development, and intellectual property portfolio management. In her spare time Mona seems to educate the independent developer community through speaking engagements (PAX, Casual Connect, GDC) and various publications.

Her articles cover a broad range of legal topics and have appeared in both legal and industry periodicals, and she is a frequent featured writer at Polygon. Mona continues to represent the indie contingent at Interactive Entertainment Law Group, lending her unique outlook and practice experience to the firm.

MARCO DEMIROZ

Venture Capitalist – General Partner, The VC Fund

Mr. DeMiroz has extensive experience in executive roles with leading technology companies and in global investments. He was a Managing Director of Evolution Media Partners and led its investment in JauntVR. He actively advises various media and technology companies in VR/AR sectors. Earlier, Mr. DeMiroz was President and CEO of PlayFirst, Inc. and sold PlayFirst to Glu Mobile (NASDAQ: GLUU).

Mr. DeMiroz obtained his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University; a post-graduate Engineer Degree in Aeronautics/Astronautics from Stanford University; an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University; and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School.

MARIANA ACUNA

Entrepreneur – VR/VFX

Mariana is a technologist, connector and entrepreneur. During her years at The Foundry she focused on virtual reality post-production workflows, as well as being the Head of Product Specialists in the Americas. She was instrumental in the launches of ExploreVR (a hub for sharing industry insight in VR content production) and Cara VR, the 360 video plug-in for Nuke.

Mariana was a pioneer in her home town Mexico City, where she founded the first VR and 360 video production and branding agency – JoltVR. Most recently co-founded Opaque Studios, where she leads the roadmap for new and existing technology developing tools for Virtual Production using Virtual Reality, transforming the way film making is done today.

Prior to her switch into tech, she has over 13 years of VFX supervisor experience in the motion picture industry, working at such studios as Sony Imageworks, CIS Hollywood, Digital Domain, HBO, Columbia Pictures and Fuse FX. She was one of the ten finalists of the Women Startup Challenge VR and AI.

STEWART HALPERN

Entrepreneur – Business & Finance

Board member, advisor, part-time C-level executive for entrepreneurs and high-growth companies in the consumer (digital media, consumer electronics/devices, entertainment and location-based) and business (big data, software and mobile technology) areas. Lead roles in general management, product/business strategy, capital raise (equity financing and debt financing), M&A, marketing, PR/IR/communications. PENKA KOUNEVA

Composer – Games and Films and Immersive Entertainment

Penka Kouneva is an admired and respected composer working alongside Steve Jablonsky on Ubisoft’s PRINCE OF PERSIA: FORGOTTEN SANDS and on Activision’s TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN games. Recently Penka scored HEROES AND LEGENDS, a 3D film / multimedia / AR attraction at the Kennedy Space Center honoring the American astronauts.

Penka’s awards include: SUNDANCE Composer Fellowship, two Ovation Awards, The Copland Award, Hollywood Music in Media Award, among many others. Penka is on the Advisory Board of Game Developers Conference and the Sundance Institute, and Mentor for Game Audio Network Guild. She is also a Universal Music-released artist (THE WOMAN ASTRONAUT, 2015).

Penka has worked on: The Transformers, Pirates, Matrix franchises; Elysium, Ender’s Game, Ninja Turtles 2 (films); and on World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Starcraft II, Gears of War 2, 3, Sims 3, Diablo III, Dragon Age II, Bloodborne (games). Penka holds the first-ever Ph.D. degree in composition from Duke University where she studied with Stephen Jaffe and Scott Lindroth.
